NetSpot: WiFi Analyzer App Reviews

Picture worth a 1000 word. When you see your WIFI signals affecting your place, you can then decide how to best compose with your wifi exposure. All that for Free! Not 100% intuitive to start though with the « walk around your place to scan you plce from a blank screen » but obvious once you think about it.

I just love this tool. I already had problems with my wifi at home, however this tool enables me to see the waves of my wifi and shows the most efficient postion. I will be purchasing the pro version soon.

A bit too complicate to work with if all you want is a quite site survey. Most people wont have time to do a drawing and have close-to-accurate distance measurement. If you have hours to spend on project, thats fine. But many people just need a quick signal strength review from spot to spot. Im gonna stay with iStumbler.

The map functionality is awesome if you have time, but even if you dont have the time to make a map, you can simply spend 5 or 10 minutes going a certain known distance and taking a reading. In most of the sites I service, this was more than adequate to get an idea of the wifi strength and weaknesses. This is NOT a basic site survey tool. It is best suited, in my opinion, to determining signal strength, and it does this VERY well! Highly recommended for this purpose!

This tool is great for setting up and planning a wifi net work in your home or office. probably will test it outside my house to see how my network looks to snoopers. i would give it 5 star if it was available in iphone or iPod, it is a little inconvenient to carry laptop around.

Need a grig to draw plans (hard to keep proportions without it)

A great, intuitive user friendly piece of software. You can either draw a map/layout of your home or wherever you are and in seconds pinpoint where you are and bamm, you find out where the sweet spot for maximum wi-fi strength is located. Best of all, it´s FREE! :)

At first Im like wait..you have to draw your house? But it was suprisingly easy…I like it!

Nice to see a free Wifi Survey app available, they are almost nonexistent. This one doesnt disappoint.

I used this App to do 3 of our buildings. It had some problems with larger maps, I emailed the company and they had me email them the file I was using. They quickly pinpointed the problem and sent me a link with an updated App and it worked great!!!! Awesome App really helped with what we were doing with our WiFi.

Finally an app for Mac that does ACCURATE, USABLE site survey information….and the best part is its FREE!!!!!

PRO: Shocked that an app of such caliber can be free! I tested it out at one of my clients locations that was having issues with multiple access points. Helped me pin-point the poorly "lit-up" sections of the building with ease! CON: Its a very basic application, could use more features - but then again its a free app!

Discovered everything about the networks in and surrounding my home. This allowed me to identify potental issues with my choices in configuration and make adjustments. So easy - This tool is a must have!!!

I cant believe this is free. Ive used expensive programs like this in the past and this one works just as well. I thought I had some wifi issues at home, I mapped out my house and found out I had several issues I didnt realize. I moved one AP around, change my channel, and re-mapped. My wifi coverage was much inproved. I would not have known if I didnt have an app like this one. Keep it up!

I love this app already. Its intuitive, painless, and visualizes what is usually vague - invisible wifi signal. I would love to see an iOS companion app since its easier to walk with an iPhone/iPad, but this app already stands above every other metering tool Ive used. Thanks so much!
